Practitioner Certificate in Data Protection The Practitioner Certificate in Data Protection is the practical qualification for those that work in the fields of data protection and privacy. Successful completion of the Programme demonstrates to employers and others that the candidate possesses a solid knowledge of data protection law, as well as an understanding of the practical implications for organisations of the legal requirements. The syllabus for the Practitioner Certificate in Data Protection Programme has been designed in consultation with the Information Commissioner’s Office, and the Programme is accredited by The Law Society. study of course materials the Examination The tuition section of the Programme requires candidates to attend four one-day Compulsory Courses and one one-day Elective Course ( see boxes below ):
Each course is held in several cities throughout the UK at various times of the year. An exemption from the requirement to attend Data Protection Essential Knowledge - Level 1 is available to candidates who already possess a sufficient level of knowledge of the basics of data protection. Candidates wishing to apply for the exemption must submit a letter signed by their current or previous employer stating that they have worked in the field of data protection for at least two years. Please note that the former name for 'Data Protection in the Workplace' was 'Data Protection in Employment', and the former name for 'Data Protection Essential Knowledge – Level 1' was 'Data Protection Essential Knowledge'. The Fee Candidates who have already attended any of the Compulsory or Elective courses are not required to attend them again - a discount of £250 per course already attended will be applied to the Programme fee. Please let us know which courses you have already attended when you enrol on the Programme. Alternatively if you have completed all 5 relevant courses before enrolling on the Programme, you can enrol for the reduced fee of £199 plus VAT, which covers the printed materials and the Examination.
